I have managed to get enough work done to bring my blog back in time for 2007. Here it is, ready to build upon — mission accomplished.
I feel proud when I look back at how far I've come from where I have been. Over the past four years I've gone from feeling so helpless and hopeless, hauling my way through anxiety and depression, to feeling much more secure and sorted. I don't think it's likely I'd be writing this if it weren't for my friends who at times have pulled me, pushed me or just walked beside me along the way.
Today I start off my new blog. The first incarnation of the blog started in 2003, in mid-2004 I stopped writing blog entries, and in 2005 I pretty much vanished from the Internet so took the entire Web site down. In November 2006 I finally felt the impetus to get back into action and put the new site online on the 1st of December, and I'm not going anywhere this time around. I've been toing and froing over whether there should be one or two blogs, one my personal journal and the second for everything else, and decided on having just the one.
The “everything else” will be commentory about the usual stuff—news, society, music, movies—and my particular interests. I am passionate about making accessible, usable, extensible and scalable Web sites. It's my intention to eventually make a business out of this, and I'll write about how this intention evolves. I'm interested in creating and so will write about where my ideas take me. You never know, I might actually write that book, that sitcom, that film!
I can't ramble on today, I have to get ready for a house party with some of my friends to bring in the new year. Don't despair, I'm sure there'll be plenty of extensive ramblings in 2007!
